Political arm of the National Association of Social Workers, Wisconsin Chapter Weighs in on 78th Assembly District Race 

Wisconsin Social Workers PAC, the political arm of the National Association of Social Workers, Wisconsin Chapters has endorsed Lisa Subeck for Assembly in the 78th district on Madison’s far west side. Subeck will be on the ballot in the primary election on Tuesday, August 12. 

“ Our jobs as social workers, and the people we serve, are deeply affected by what happens in the State Legislature,” said Marc Herstand executive director of NASW- Wisconsin. “Lisa Subeck has a proven track record of working effectively on education, on women’s health, and on initiatives that have an impact on women and families. She has shown she gets things done, she knows the issues and she has great compassion. She is an outstanding candidate and we are proud to support her.”

Lisa Subeck is the proven, progressive leader in the Democratic primary to replace Brett Hulsey in the 78th District. Subeck has spent her career standing up for progressive values as a former executive director of NARAL Pro-Choice Wisconsin, a pre-school and head start teacher, and as an advocate for homeless women and children. A two term member of the Madison City Council, she is currently on leave from her job as Executive Director of United Wisconsin where she leads grassroots efforts focused on raising the minimum wage and voting rights.
